This is a tougher question because each shingle brand has its
own curing duration.
New work is ok IF installed by a highly qualified
installer because there is defiantly more technique and skill required. This can
also happen because the property is most likely not heated yet so temperatures
inside and out are stable.
Re-roof is different with the temperatures inside and out,
ice damming, ice jacking and blown snow or rain. Most shingle brands need 2-4
weeks nice weather to properly cure before winter starts. However the shingles
that need the LEAST curing time is GAF Timberline which takes 2-4 DAYS of
nice weather.
