Is it ok to install shingles when it’s cold?

This is a tougher question because each shingle brand has its own curing duration.

New work is ok IF installed by a highly qualified installer because there is defiantly more technique and skill required. This can also happen because the property is most likely not heated yet so temperatures inside and out are stable.

Re-roof is different with the temperatures inside and out, ice damming, ice jacking and blown snow or rain. Most shingle brands need 2-4 weeks nice weather to properly cure before winter starts. However the shingles that need the LEAST curing time is GAF Timberline which takes 2-4 DAYS of nice weather.
